  • Artist: Elías Gellon-Maxon

Elías grew up in Argentina. Surrounded by Buenos Aires' street art and a fascination for all kinds of illustrated stories, art has always been a constant in his life. His pursuit for drawing proficiency started early: at 12 he attended a weekly workshop hosted by a local comic book artist where he learned basics in anatomy, perspective, backgrounds and composition. After finishing the workshop at 16, he continued working on these fundamentals in a digital medium. Although he still develops digital illustrations, after moving to the United States in 2022 his focus has migrated from the screen back to traditional paper. He currently attends classes in Lane Community College where he has learned how to apply his craft to charcoal. He enjoys finding the balance with the literal and the conceptual in high contrast charcoal and pastel drawings. Here he explores themes such as time, identity, culture, lineage and the environment in between others. Now he desires to continue exploring the wonders of his current medium while also looking for new avenues of expression.
