As a child, Amrita Dutia spent her time scribbling, coloring and drawing as this was her favorite pastime. She knew from an early age that art was her first passion. Her creative journey continued through her school days ultimately culminating with an International Baccalaureate in Art by the time she graduated from high school. She attended the University of Oregon and graduated with a BFA in fiber arts.
She has predominately participated in art shows in the Eugene area. She received a first-place runner-up award for the "Oregon Made for Interiors" show in 2005. In 2016, she received an award of excellence for the “HERstory” exhibition from Manhattan Arts International. In 2019 she was requested to participate in the "Immigration Nation" exhibition at the federal courthouse in Eugene.
That same year, she was asked to show her "President Obama" portrait at the Eugene Airport gallery. In 2020 she was selected to create a fiftieth edition poster for the Portland Trail Blazers, and she has been selected four times for the Eugene Mayor's Art Show.
Amrita Dutia's artwork is in private collections around the world, including Japan, Norway, India, UAE, South Africa, Singapore and in several cities around the United States.
