Painted while listening to “Fools Gold” by The Stone Roses.
Includes UV-reactive elements.
The Stone Roses created one of those grooves that gets under your skin and refuses to leave. I painted this on wood because I liked the feeling that the surface already had a history of its own.
In daylight, the piece feels warm, weathered, and a little mysterious, like an old club wall after the crowd has gone home. Under black light, another painting wakes up. The colours flare, the mood changes, and the groove becomes more nocturnal, playful, and slightly dangerous.
Some things are worth loving even when you know they might be fool’s gold.
