Arthur Rothstein (1915-1985) was born in New York and later studied at Columbia University. Between 1935-1943 Rothstein worked for the FSA to photograph and document the displacement and harsh conditions faced by American farm workers during the Great Depression. Later in life he worked for several photography magazines and earned over 35 photojournalism awards. (Arthur Rothstein Legacy Project, 2022)
