Painted as an “Option B” for a recent commission because that old self doubt ensued. Nevertheless, I was out of time to do 2 paintings and have them dry in time to roll and bring on an airplane. So I now have this fabulous painting that which I finished yesterday to share with you. I used raw linen and stained the canvas which yields those deep intense darks. Truly it is much more free and intuitive than the commissioned piece.
