Contemporary artist exploring conceptual themes through painting, sculpture, and collage.
Message(b. 1968) I am a professional artist with over 28 years of experience across fine arts, architecture and design, and the nonprofit sector. As both a mentor and collaborator in the creative community, I bring a unique blend of business acumen and artistic vision to each endeavor. With a hands-on, solutions-driven approach, I’ve taken full ownership of every project I’ve led overseeing art direction, project management, and stakeholder engagement with care and commitment. As I take on increasingly complex responsibilities, I have developed the courage and clarity of purpose to step into the public art realm to expand my impact. I am currently in the process of securing certified woman-owned business status.
Statement
I give visual expression to feelings, which can be seen in my paintings and collages. My inspiration also comes from mindfulness and reflection. I am now incorporating sculpture into my repertoire, starting with an ambitious project called The Circle Conversation, where I aim to share my lived experiences and offer support to others through my art.
The Conversation sculpture is inspired by the NeuroArts discipline and fosters community engagement on mental health via art, science, and technology. Three eight-foot diameter open circles made of foundry bronze are placed on the ground to convey movement and invite interaction and reflection. Nearby digital signage encourages viewers to share their journeys and provides resources.
At times, my work poses more questions than answers, offering room for interpretation and new perspectives. It connects to something universal, resonating with many people. As more private collectors and businesses continue to support my art, I am increasingly willing to experiment and enter the realm of public art.
