Friedrich Schiller Monument

The statue is a man standing erect with PR hand at side holding a laurel wreath and PL arm bent across his chest. His PR foot is forward with the PR leg slightly bent. He is gazing out, slightly to the PR. He is dressed in a flowing cloak over a long double-breasted jacket and pants. Two books are stacked at the PL rear under the edge of his cloak.The base has three one foot high steps at the bottom leading to about an 11 foot high square pedestal. The statue is surrounded by a three-foot iron fence, which is circled by a brick walk and park benches. The 80 foot diameter plaza is in a city park.
