Litho P. Verstegen, Brussels. This poster is for the Belgian release of the second (1924) Italian silent film version historical drama film by Henryk Sienkiewicz . It was directed by Gabriellino D'Annunzio and Georg Jacoby, starring Emil Jannings as Nero. The poster features colorful snapshots of the scenes of persecution meant to attract and thrill audiences. While a silent film, it nevertheless boasted music and singing, as advertised in the upper right corner.
