Passion Play, Edison's Copyrighted Production of The
- Lithograph

This piece is not a movie poster as such, but rather an advertisement for the Richard G. Hollaman production The Passion Play of Ober-Ammergau. The text reads as it does as a consequence of a lawsuit by Thomas Edison because Hollaman failed to obtain permission to use the filming method copyrighted by Edison. The latter won his patent infringement lawsuit and took possession of the film. Consequently, this poster tells an important piece of the early history of the film industry.
