The Wooden Wall Works are a series of sculptures that play with light and color interaction across intersecting wooden planes and the wall. Each piece is created using simple wooden joinery that evokes the over-under format of weaving and the graphic line work of modernist drawing. The painted interior planes of each open "cell" reflects onto the wall behind the artwork, washing an optical glow around the piece. The diagonal square composition of the two works in "Cosmic Bloom" were inspired by folding squares of fabric for dyeing on a recent visit to an indigo village.
