The kitchen still life theme is one that has been recurrent throughout Scott's work. After the early 1950s his work assumed a more abstract tone, but in recent years he has reexamined the basic kitchen images. A print of this edition, numbered 28/250 is in the Tate Collection, Cat. No. P05125 as "Still Life" (with frying pan).
