- Jim Cummings
Jim Cummins AKA “I, Braineater” was ground zero in the Vancouver punk underground art world since it’s inception in the late 1970s. Involved in performance arts, painting, photography, film and music, Cummins was immediately recognized by the older generation of the Vancouver art scene — Allan Wood and Bill Featherston were fans from the first, he was lauded by Scott Watson and admired by his contemporary Douglas Coupland. Cummins was constantly marketing himself and thus able to make a living from his art and music where he blended the punk and glam scenes in the iconic I, Braineater.
Cummins’ work has been featured in film, television and magazines, and has appeared in solo and group exhibits worldwide. His paintings are in the Vancouver Art Gallery permanent collection.
