Grafton, Vermont is where we have conducted, from 2012 to 2017, the Sugaring Season Paint-Out. It takes place in March, which is a colossally stupid time of year to be outside in Vermont, trying to paint. The participants have (much more accurately) renamed the thing 'The Frozen-Ass Painters.' This was a demo I did one afternoon when the water-miscible oil colors I was using started to freeze on the surface of the panel. I don't recall Monet having this problem in Giverny.
