One of the last independent paper mills operating on "The Island" in Bellows Falls VT, Robertson Paper, shown here with its distinctive clearstory, finally closed as the century turned. The building was demolished in 2019. I was out of town -and glad to be- when it happened. The title comes from a Dougie McLean song, but this image was used for the cover of Mark Erelli's MILLTOWNS album, a tribute to the late, great New Hampshire songwriter Bill Morrissey.
