Gary Smith's Kidder Farm is an extraordinary piece of land in Walpole, NH. Although the beavers had recently gnawed down Gary's prized pear trees, he was nonetheless kind enough to let me set up and paint down by his pond. His donkey, Shotgun, kept a watchful eye on me throughout.
