Members of the Dripping Springs Art League were invited to paint at the beautiful Madrone Springs Ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas recently. As I traveled along paths at the ranch to find a location to set up my easel and paint, I came across chickens and guinea fowl in and around a coop surrounded by oak trees. King of Madrone was inspired by a brash but charming rooster that seemed to rule the roost (no pun intended!).
