I fell in love with a vase of peonies in a lovely welcoming AirBnB on the island of Texel in the Netherlands, my adopted home. They were in bud when we arrived and opened up on the first morning to a glorious display. During the time there I heard that a very dear family friend had died after a short battle with cancer. I chose one to concentrate on and the vector art work took around six months, off and on, due to frequent ill health. This version places a pale pink blossom head against a shocking pink ground for a real pop of colour. Something about fighting the darkness strongly in this one.
