More than two years had passed since I made my journal of one plant growing during the pandemic when I made this piece. The series and the individual works play on the idea of the passage of time in two ways. First, there is the linear process of dates and sketches that capture the growth of one plant through time. Then there is the much more complex human time line of my learning how to 'do' digital art, wanting to make sense of the changes that had happened since accepting chronic illness, and the new ways of seeing that were unfolding to me. This one has a feeling of companionship between the two renderings of the plant. Elegant and somewhat stately, standing apart but naturally tied together by being exact repetitions differing in scale and colour.
