Dear Earth,
Even in decay,
you layer color like forgiveness.
Greens become purples,
purples bruise into pinks,
and water clings to each fold
like it can’t quite let go.
Up close,
this hydrangea isn’t perfect—
it’s better.
Worn, softened, real.
Thank you for reminding me
that beauty doesn’t ask for permission—
it just keeps happening.
