Before the Songbird Sings brings a quiet moment of calm with its soft tones and easy textures. Muted shades of green, cream, and gray create a peaceful base, while touches of burnt orange and deep cobalt green add bursts of energy and contrast.
Created with oil and cold wax using palette knives, cards, and fingers, the painting features layered strokes and textured patches that add depth and movement. The marks I made suggest natural, weathered surfaces, blending smooth and rough areas in a balanced composition.
The warm orange highlights sit quietly beneath cooler shades, creating a sense of calm anticipation—like the stillness just before a single songbird begins to sing.
Each painting I create is presented in one of my handmade maple frames, wired and ready for installation. All materials I choose are archival, ensuring long-term preservation and quality.
