God gave me a gift I didn't know I had until I was 58 years old, but once I picked up that brush, I never put it down. PAINTING IS MY PASSION!
MessageThis is one of the few species of birds in which the female has more color than the male. The female has a reddish-brown band across the chest and the males have only the blue band. From my personal experience, the males are more skittish than the females and much harder to photograph. The females seem to be more aware that we do not pose a danger and will stay perched longer and allow us to take photos of her. She's a beautiful bird.
