The male Eastern Bluebird is a brighter blue than the females and help with the feeding of their young. The young fledge and can fly but cannot feed themselves for awhile after leaving the nest, as with many species of birds. This father Bluebird has probably just fed worms to these young juvenile birds and now they are resting with full tummies.
