Figure Studies: Early Foundations
This body of work represents over a decade of focused study of the human figure from life.
Drawing the figure became the foundation of my practice. It trained my eye to see structure, light, and proportion with clarity, and developed the discipline that continues to support all of my work today.
These pieces were created in direct observation, in the shared space between artist and model. That setting carries a quiet intensity. It is built on attention, trust, and presence. Over time, that exchange became just as important as the drawings themselves.
While my work has since moved into more environmental and conceptual directions, everything I make is still rooted in what was learned here.

The Grain of Consciousness
This series marks a turning point in my work, where my focus began to shift from observation into a more internal and experiential direction.
The paintings were developed on paper through a looser, more intuitive process. Color, movement, and atmosphere became the primary language, allowing the work to move away from strict representation and toward something more felt than described.
The series was shaped by a period of personal exploration and a clear directive to “shine a light.” I approached that idea through painting, using each piece as a way to translate internal states and moments of awareness into visual form.
These works sit at the threshold between structure and intuition. They carry the early stages of a language that continues to evolve in my current practice.
