The Canada Goose is a familiar sight around here. This was painted after an experience I had approaching a goose on the lawns of the Hatley Park National Historic Site in Victoria, BC. As I approached, one goose stood up, chest puffed out and spread his wings in a warning to me and the other grazing geese that I should stay where I was. Point taken, Mr. Goose!

I painted this over the span of several weeks of listening to Canadian music like the Hip, Gordon Lightfoot, Big Sugar, Stompin' Tom Connors... you name it. I love my Canadiana!
