The title itself was inspired by Spice(Melange.) Melange is a fictitious drug from the "Dune" novel series. Melange is known to lengthen the user's life, broaden their awareness, and leaves the user with iconic "blue with blue" eyes. There is also an homage to the late rapper MF DOOM, who passed away late last year. MF DOOM continues to be one of my biggest creative inspirations. This piece contains all of the usual themes/styles, but taken to the next level. The painting is a blend of abstraction, geometry, street art, punk rock, and a smidge of the avant garde. This piece is also the first painting I've completed featuring the air brush, a medium that has become a central technique in most of my more recent work.
