This portrait of a young woman is part of a series of works entitled 'No more cages'. Women were restricted to housekeeping and handicrafts for such a long time that we've internalized this restriction and often have a hard time believing that we are capable of great things. The face of the beautiful woman in this work is almost completely hidden by a vintage teapot lid. Her brain remains untapped, her brilliance and power are obscured. The red element is stamped on its back with the text 'No more cages, outer or inner'.
