Mountain Mint, painted from reference photos taken on a walk with a friend I met through a native plant group. This piece was created using the same wet-on-wet, watercolor-like technique, but with a pale blue underpainting that adds a cool, soft atmosphere. Mountain mint can be used much like true mint and is irresistible to pollinators—blooming late in the summer when pollen can be scarce. Painted with acrylics on canvas with hanging wire, it’s ready to frame.
