Hot, Cool, Hot — part of my Remnant series, where I scavenge compositions from my paint palettes and reinterpret them in paint. Sometimes I follow the original closely, and other times the piece takes on a life of its own. The title came to me while listening to jazz — the rhythm and movement of the music felt just like the energy of the painting. This highly textured piece was created with layers of palette knife work, spraying, scraping, and pressing plastic into wet paint, then peeling it back once dry to reveal organic textures and surprises. Painted on deep, gallery-wrapped canvas, varnished, and ready to hang.
