I took a reference photo standing in this spot over 10 years ago. Every now and then it would appear in a feed or memory, nudging me to paint it.
The view point is named after Thomas Moran, a Hudson River School artist who painted landscape paintings of the west. Many of his paintings prompted the creation of our national parks, like Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon. This particular point offers an awe inspiring view of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River far below.
