My work is grounded in memory and sensory perception related to my childhood. Imagery often emerges from emotions generated by the senses of sight, touch, and smell. Process is a significant component of my work whereby transparent layers conveying growth are constructed, covered, and reemerge parallel to the nature of memory and the act of remembering. Reflection correlates with the evaluation of self, through the process of time. While growth becomes the process through time, a relationship between discovering and seeking the upbringing of ones’ tradition and ancestors’ tradition, leaves series of questions. We are accustomed with the culture we are consumed by, that we tend to leave the story of our roots planted . When do we embody who we truly are and where we come from?
