MessageFrom a very young age, I was drawn to the quiet and methodical world of visual art. Drawing and painting were wonderful ways to express my inner creativity without the spotlight being specifically on me; the light was instead on my work. While I have no formal art education, I have painted continuously from young adulthood, with varying degrees of speed and focus depending on life circumstances.
Over the years I have produced many paintings, some of which have been displayed publicly. I have hung art for several Art Walks, at Gallery 549, Cite des Arts, the Ballet Academie, Galerie Touchet, and Marc Issac’s Salon. I’ve done a number of commissions, ranging from human portraits to dog portraits to melting violins. My art was used as the cover for ULL’s Southwestern Review in 2012, and as the cover for my father’s self-released music album, Fog on the Highway, back in 2009. Apart from that, my paintings hang in the houses of many friends and family members, and they cover the walls of my own home.
My most recent artistic pursuits involve cypress swamps and recycled plywood canvas. I have several of these recycled pieces hanging at the Deuxieme Vie Artist Collective. I am also currently attempting to become better acquainted with the artist community here in Lafayette, to learn more about the business and promotion side of creativity.
