My work reveals combinations of places I am connected to. These places include my subtropical native home of South Louisiana and the opposing climate of the desert southwest, where I have also lived. I blend different aspects of these places together while also weaving in fragmented images from my father’s photographs from the early 1960s. Using these three different sources of influence as a platform I simultaneously push my experimental painting process further and further to create completely new spaces.
