I was born in Church Point, Louisiana. It was there I first learned to love the culture of the area. My love of art was nurtured by my family and teachers and I eventually earned a degree in Art Education from USL, now University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Teaching is in my blood and being able to combine that calling while creating art professionally, is really having my cake and getting to eat it too. You can’t have too much of a good thing, so I went back to school a couple of times to learn how to be a Graphic Designer and then earned a Master’s degree in Gifted Education. I have been in teaching in various schools of Lafayette Parish since 1988 and I still love my job. I am married and have three sons who, very loyally, encourage my art making. Living in this area gives an artist unlimited inspirations but I have focused my paintings on the beautiful marsh lands of Louisiana and the creatures of land and sea that thrive there. I hope to give a glimpse of this part of the world which I love to anyone who might want to experience a little marsh life.
