This painting was inspired by a dance photo I found in the NYTs. Sara Krulwick photographed Chris Sullivan as Duke Mahoney and Robin Hurder as Jeannie Muldoon in 2012 during "Nice Work if you Can Get It." I painted Robyn who is now on Broadway in Smash. With both her movement and expression, and from my own experience with dance, I can feel what she feels. I painted her pushing to the edges of the canvas.
