One of my favorite places to paint outdoors is along the riverbank of the Chattahoochee River in Georgia. Painting au plein air gives an immediacy and vibrancy that is harder to achieve in the studio. The light and luminosity changes constantly along with shadows and reflections, requiring the artist to work quickly and impressionistically. This was a lovely Spring Day with a stream coming down from the meadow to join the river. The piece is done in soft pastels on velvet and is offered unframed.
