"This abstracted cacti embodies everything I am inspired by in nature. The compelling oval shapes of the paddle cactus reaching seemingly weightless into the sky, within its imperfections residing micro worlds of insects, bacteria, and other plantlife—all there for the world to witness if one looks close enough. This artwork will attract mason bees- solitary pollinators of varied shapes and sizes that account for over 70% of the world’s pollination effort. These insects utilize holes in grasses, trees, and the ground to lay their eggs. They are seldom aggressive and can be approached quietly by children for study." - Andrew Woodard
