To rest is to find freedom. Freedom to show your true self despite suppressing it for how long or for whom. The title of my work is “Let Him Speak.” It is as simple as that. There is freedom in being still and letting the Lord speak to and through us. Many times, we let our problems and thoughts get in the way of his voice, but all He wants is for us to tell him everything—I mean everything. The good, the bad, and the ugly—just to build that intimacy with him. The creative process for this painting is as follows: “He put my feet in the ground—in the grass. And he remolded me like Adam. I died to self the previous night, and he molded me into what he wanted me to be.” Rest means the right timing. His timing. To have the Lord over one’s life means to have complete control. I surrender daily to Jesus and pray blessings over anyone who is in contact with or in the vicinity of my soul. - Ivori Carroll
