Minnesota has over 100 waterfalls with hiking trails that invite exploration. While many of the iconic falls are near Lake Superior's North Shore, falls are found throughout Minnesota. The mesmerizing motion of a waterfall causes us to pause, enjoy, and marvel at its power.
For this project, 15 artists associated with the Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center challenged themselves to capture those feelings using techniques employing the use of fire. “Fire Arts” include blacksmithing, enameling, jewelry making, metal casting, neon bending, metal welding and forming, and neon art. Art using these techniques has a unique strength and permanence and is not easily replicated.

The Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center (CAFAC) is a non-profit arts organization that fills a unique niche in the Twin Cities. They focus on art forms produced using heat, spark, or flame: blacksmithing, enameling, glass, jewelry making, metal casting, neon, sculptural welding, and more.
The pillars of their programming are arts education, artist support, and public art, which together provide a platform for social impact and community-driven resources.
This collection represents the kinds of work that can be produced at CAFAC. They offer classes to all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels in these fire art forms. Their gallery hosts regular exhibits and offers original artwork on consignment.
