ARTIST STATEMENT
I use art to look closely; to connect with the natural world around me; and to share delight in animals, the outdoors, and repurposed objects.

I upcycle scrap glass and tile, jewelry and figurines, discarded boards and scrap metal into mosaics and mixed media assemblages. It's important to me that my pieces incorporate reused, recycled, and repurposed objects - those objects add extra character and depth and appear throughout the tesserae (attached mosaic pieces) and the substrates (work surfaces) of my work.

I believe in the importance of infusing our lives with color, finding beauty in the everyday, and ¬giving used items a second chance.

I also believe it is important to have art everywhere.
