MSP Terminal 1, Airport Mall Gallery
Highlighting ten artists of African descent from across the state, this juried exhibition illuminates a vibrant black cultural production in Minnesota. The exhibit comes to MSP from Obsidian Arts in Minneapolis after a tour of galleries state-wide including Austin Area Arts in Austin, MN, Emy Frentz Arts Gallery in Mankato, Paramount Center of the Arts in St. Cloud, and the Duluth Art Institute.

With this exhibit Obsidian aims to circulate art by black artists through communities large and small. The artists’ stories are rendered through an array of mediums and methods to show intricate works that are both emotive and eclectic. No matter the method, and regardless the origin, each artwork offers an opportunity to connect with and find inspiration in some of Minnesota’s finest contemporary artists.
