I have begun painting over older pieces that have really never found a home with me or others. Nearly all of the pieces I have started painting over had wonderful rich blues and deep purples layered in them (along with mixed media pieces). I've come to see that they are a series of self portraits, reflective of the shifting perspectives of self, the physical aspects of change and growth, and the scars woven into the many layers of my experience. This is #3 in the Self Portrait series.
