This painting is an abstract depiction of moonlight on still water, symbolising the soul’s
journey toward the Divine. The moon, reflecting the light of the sun, becomes a metaphor
for the spirit (ruh) reflecting Divine reality. The stillness of the water mirrors the heart in a
state of quiet receptivity, capable of unveiling sacred truths known as Fikr.
The geometric pattern is inspired by the 13th-century mausoleum of Umar al-Suhrawardi
in Baghdad, Iraq. It is based on the tenfold symmetry and expresses balance, harmony,
and order, core attributes of Divine creation.
