Beautiful piece from Grant's 2014 Edinburgh exhibition "The Shape of Time". The 1 cm thick gesso block is painted in egg tempura, then delicate cascading dandelion seeds are etched from the surface. The delicacy of the artwork upon the slate-like gesso block produces a mesmerising display of summer lightness combined with weight, depth and strength.
