Fantastic image of jazz legend Ray Charles in the studio in Hollywood, California in 1962.
Ray Charles (1930-2004) was an American pianist, singer, composer, and bandleader, a leading entertainer billed as “the Genius.” He lost his sight completely aged 7 and started performing professionally aged 15. Charles was credited with the early development of soul music, a style based on a melding of gospel, rhythm and blues, and jazz music.
