Iconic image from the now legendary collaboration between Salvador Dali and portrait photographer Phillipe Halsman which began in the early 1940s.
Salvador Dali (1904-1989) was one of the original Surrealists from the 1920s together with Max Ernst, Man Ray, Luis Buñuel, Joan Miró and Marcel Duchamp. A larger-than-life personality and showman, he was renowned for his technical skill, precise draftsmanship and the striking and bizarre images in his work.
