Mesmerizing work from the designs for the roof panels in Cleish Castle, near Kinross in Perthshire. Paolozzi made 9 panels for the owner, his friend Michael Spens, an architect, and produced many preparatory sketches before creating the designs, his first works in relief. The work has elements of a city scape, a circuit board, musical themes and architectural drawings, perhaps reflecting the interests he shared with the patron. The panels now hang in the National Gallery of Scotland.
On Arches paper, image is 40x58cm on a 54x72 sheet. Signed below right and numbered 50/60 below left. Matted and in a black metal frame.
