"Springtime" was originally painted as a watercolor in response to a Haiku by Poppy Herrin. One of few of my original paintings where I was creating an ekphrastic of a piece of writing instead of the writing interpreting my painting. I loved how the poem made me stretch.
It hung in a Columbia Art Center 2013 Blossoms of Hope exhibition. It was selected to be printed as a flag hung by Lake Kittamaqundi and later hung in the Howard County Center in Ellicott City. The original did not survive the Ellicott City flood in 2018, but the image continues to life through these prints.
