Watercolor interpretation of a photo copyrighted by The Baltimore Sun of Louisa Wright Neilson Ford. Louisa Ford was a founder of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and the painting was done as part of a celebration of the Baltimore Watercolor Society's 140th Anniversary. The image from The Baltimore Sun was augmented with an easel built by my paternal grandfather in the 1900s. He would trade his carpentry skills with neighbors. He painted as a hobby using the easel portrayed in this painting. We know he also traded his paintings with neighbors as some have found their way back to our family from descendants who still live in western Massachusetts, where my grandparents lived and where I grew up.
