April's non-objective piece, "Flight", was inspired by kite tails or tattered flags. The movement of kite tails is mesmerizing to me but also so meaningful. A friend tell me she sees autumn leaves and the movement of blowing leaves.
"Flight" is one of my paintings included in "Portraits of Life: An Ekphrastic Anthology" with poems written by local artists. The book is the result of an event sponsored by the Ellicott City Poetry and Prose non-profit organization in conjunction with an exhibition I had with my friend Elaine Weiner-Reed at the Baltimore County Arts Guild (BCAG) Clubhouse Gallery.
In addition to the BCAG exhibition, it was included in a Maryland Federation of Art's Stokes of Genius exhibition.
"Flight" is a Gallery wrapped painting, where the image continues around the sides. It is presented without a frame.
