Owls are messengers and seekers of truth where one can always find wisdom in silence. This intriguing hand woven tapestry whispers to those who listen. With a background of unique yarns that include a popcorn chenille, ladder string, delicate chenille, flag string, cotton, delicate eyelash and specialty yarns this owl fascinates all. A dangling string of crystal jewelry adds sparkle, while an unusual bracelet is the hanger. A truly unique mini fiber art tapestry.

One of a kind artisan made from repurposed vintage fibers and found jewelry treasures from a local thrift that enhances the lives of those with intellectual and developmental challenges to thrive and live their best lives. Each tapestry is designed and created to showcase pieces of jewelry, colors and textures of these sometimes irreplaceable fibers that can include linen, cotton, soft feather, string, one of a kind fibers, chenille, anything I can salvage or find discarded. You just never know what I will piece into a tapestry. Once I weave them tightly, I finish off to add a hanger, these too are unique and usually not included in the dimensions (I will try to offer a length with the hanger - if not ask before purchase).

These creative pieces are hand woven on an old fashion metal loom. Yarns are a variety of material, mostly unique one of a kind. Many will have yarns of cotton, wool, linen, mohair, faux furs, string yarns, flag yarn, ladder, ribbon, silks, rayon, polyester, velvet, chenille and anything unusual. Everything goes through a rigorous cleaning, winding into a ball, color sorted and showcase unusual yarns to become the centerpiece of a new tapestry. Jewelry pieces are found treasures that often are the inspiration for the tapestry. You may find a bracelet, pieces of jewelry taken apart and reworked, pin or a whimsical accent all of high grade vintage jewelry. Items are cleaned with alcohol and refurbished to sparkle and enliven these works of art. Many will often have swarvski crystals added into these works of art. Hanger is A large metal link necklace (recommend using a decorative nail to hang as shown - these are not included) that finishes the artwork for unique display.
My recently found vintage metal loom prompted exploration into boxes of scrap yarns, fibers & vintage jewelry that I have collected for a decade. In 2021, mini fiber art tapestry’s were born from these found treasures. Each piece of artwork takes hours searching for treasured fibers to combine textures, colors and design to infuse nostalgic harmony with the vintage jewelry accents. One of a kind limited works of art will be produced until the box of found treasures are gone.
